About the members
Collen Mafela is a Professional Accountant (SA). He wrote his board exam with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants in 2013, passed on first attempt and was then admitted as a member in 2014.
He also has a Bcom (Accounting) degree which he obtained in 2012 from the University of Venda in Limpopo province. Collen served articles at Moore Stephens FRRS Incorporated (a small to medium audit firm in Benoni (East Rand)) where he performed statutory audits on companies in various industries such as manufacturing, education, attorneys, construction and property development, service business/labour brokers, transportation, retail and various other industries. Apart from performing statutory audits, he was also trained on financial and management accounting and taxation.
Post his SAICA articles, Collen worked as an Accountant for 1time Airline (one of the audit clients) and was then employed as a Group Financial Manager at Midway Two Service group (also one of the audit clients). He is currently consulting as a Finance Manager for Brightwave Technologies (a 100% empowered new age telecoms company).
Shumani Mafela is an administrator at heart. She has an intense passion for ensuring things are in order and is also responsible for some of the company's business development. Shumani has a Diploma in Administrative Assistant obtained from Boston Business College obtained in 2000.
She also has a Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management obtained from UNISA
(University of South Africa) which she obtained in 2014 and she is also furthering her studies in the area of Supply Chain Management through UNISA. She also has an extensive career experience in the motor industry having worked as a stores controller for Midas in Wynberg.
